Technique Group and Goss International partner to add value at Segerdahl Group

Chicago, US, Jan 26, 2010 / Article 133

Segerdahl Group, based in Wheeling (Chicago) has implemented seamless connectivity between their new Goss Sunday 4000 press and Technique’s data collection system. This is a part of full Technique management information suite being implemented, which also includes Scheduling, Inventory, Estimating, and Order Management. Segerdahl is a leading provider of direct marketing solutions. With more than 300 staff and two plants, Segerdahl operates both sheet and web presses, and relies on both Goss and Technique to bring value to their business.

The solution provides real time feedback to Segerdahl’s management of all aspects of press performance including speed, operation codes, job costing, web breaks, splices, mill joins, paper yield and performance. All information is instantly available for analysis and all status changes are immediately communicated plant wide to planners and CSR’s enabling them to make timelier and better informed decisions.

Matt Goetz of Segerdahl Group worked with both Technique and Goss staff to realize this successful project “The printer of today needs to automate at every possible opportunity and this was key in choosing these two forward thinking partners. By implementing this integration we have real time press data; increased accuracy of production and management information; have reduced labor costs in a number of areas including press make ready and recording of information; and have 100% accurate paper performance”.

We are excited about the relationship with Technique, we have worked very closely together to add value to Segerdahl.” Says Karl Williamson, Technical Sales Manager; Goss International. “Segerdahl has a 7 unit, 1 web, 75" wide web, Sunday 4000 - 64 page with Auto Plate and Auto Transfer.

Both Technique and Goss share many customers and by being able to provide this tight integration to both Segerdahl and other printers we are jointly providing them with greater functionality and return on their existing investments.“ Says Chris Wood, President, Technique Inc.
