The system will be used to
estimate and schedule jobs on
its 4 heatset web presses, 7
coldset presses and extensive
bindery operations. Technique’s
Inventory Management module will
be used to manage an annual
paper inventory exceeding 75,000
tons.
With over 150 printing units and
associated roll stands, an MIS
system with extensive support
for multiple webs and roll
stands is vital to be able to
estimate and plan the jobs. With
such a massive volume of paper
passing through the plant each
year, a first class inventory
management application that is
seamlessly integrated into the
remainder of the system plays a
vital role.
"Southwest Offset is a perfect
fit for Technique MIS. Many of
Europe’s largest publication
printers run Technique MIS and
we now see this trend continuing
in other geographic regions.
Built from the ground up to
support large, multi-site,
multi-company printers and
having the most extensive,
integrated contracts module in
the industry makes our product
ideal " states Paul
Cooper, CEO, Technique Group
Jennifer McDonald, Southwest
Offset’s Chief Operating
Officer, commented:
"After
extensively surveying the market
for an MIS system that would
suit our needs and talking to
other Technique users, it became
clear that Technique stands head
and shoulders above the
competition when it comes to
coldset and contract management
capabilities. The modern user
interface and modern technology
will help accelerate the
learning and implementation
process.”
